Pumpkin & ginger soup

So for this month of March we are cooking with Jamie Oliver. Tonight we making something for the whole family… for those cold chilly nights this Pumpkin & Ginger soup will defiantly warm up those cold bodies.

We are making Pumpkin and Ginger soup, I prefer butternut  instead of pumpkin.

Serves 4 | Cooks in 1 hour


  • 1 kg pumpkin
  • 2 shallots
  • 75 g ginger
  • a few sprigs of fresh herbs , such as chives, mint
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 litre organic vegetable stock
  • 125 ml coconut milk , plus extra to serve
  • ½ tablespoon chilli powder
  • 1 lime


  1. Deseed and roughly chop the pumpkin, peel and chop the shallots, then peel and finely grate the ginger. Pick and finely chop the herbs.
  2. Place the pumpkin, shallots, ginger and some oil in a large saucepan and sauté until soft.
  3. Add the stock, coconut milk and chilli powder. Season, then bring to the boil and simmer for 40 minutes.
  4. Blitz in a food processor then serve with the fresh herbs, lime juice and a splash of coconut milk.

Tips for the worst Potty Trainer

I’m a mother to a gorgeous girly girl who will be turning 3 next month.

I’m in the process of training my daughter how to use the potty. I’m failing miserably this will be my third attempt. I tried it last year but felt she wasn’t ready for it so I decided to abort the mission.  I waited a few months 2 weeks ago I tried again and I would asked her if she needed to go and she would say no…..Not even 2 seconds later then she just let it flow.  Or she will stand next to the potty and do it. So I want to try this for the third and last time.

PLEASE HELP!! Any useful tips will be appreciated?

I have to say this potty training is kicking my butt BIG time.

Cooking Tonight with Jamie Oliver

So this is my first blog post EVER… I don’t know if any of you also have the same problem I have but I NEVER know what to make for dinner for my family….

Okay! so what do you think about Moroccan-Style roast Chicken?

Serves: 4-6 ppl / Cooking time is 1hr 30min


  • 2 preserved lemons
  • 1 tablespoon ras el hanout
  • 1 dried chilli
  • 1 x whole 1.6kg free-range chicken
  • olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon rose petals (unsprayed) , optional
  • a few sprigs of fresh coriander


  1. Preheat the oven to 180ºC/gas 4.
  2. Finely chop 1 of the preserved lemons and bash together with the ras el hanout, dried chilli and a pinch of sea salt and black pepper using a pestle and mortar.
  3. Slice the remaining lemon and divide between the base of a roasting tray and the cavity of the chicken.
  4. Slash the chicken breast a few times and rub in the marinade. Drizzle with oil, rub again, and place in the roasting tray.
  5. Scatter with rose petals (if using), and roast for 1 hour 20 minutes, until the skin is sticky and chicken is cooked. Pick, then scatter over the coriander leaves to serve.

5 Min Lose Belly Fat Exercise

So who out there hates to exercise? I was one of them a few months ago, until I joined a group of women who wanted a lifestyle change just like me. We meet up twice a week and get our blood flowing.

So let’s start by taking it easy only 5 min a day! We all can do that right? NO EXCUSES put the remote control down and LET’S DO THIS!!!

1min – Reverse Crunches
1min – Scissors
1min – Cross Body Mountain Climbers
1min – Elbow to knee
1min – Plank


Stop! Start

I know this one all too well. There were many days I would just wish for something to happen but not getting off my behind and actually doing something.

Today’s motivational quote is:  Stop wishing…Start Doing.

How many of us are always wishing? I wished this didn’t happen to me… I wished it did happen to me…. So & so is a lucky person all the good things are happening to her/him.

Luck has nothing to do with it if you want something or you want change in your life. ONLY one person can change that & that person is YOU! You are the only one that can change your situation. So stop blaming other people for everything that is going wrong in your life. STOP WISHING AND START DOING.
